Moderates and values dont have towels … get a clue

They look nice, but I don't see us staying there any time soon..

Using my VGF direct points for this resort does not feel like a good use of my points. If however, i owned SSR direct, maybe. The lack of washer/dryer, tub, pool towels is a deal breaker for me. Also can't watch TV and have a movie night comfortably b/c the layout is terrible and no arm swivel. Top this off with high dues is a dagger in the heart. The only benefit right now is parking and charging my EV, but this convenience does not balance out all the inconveniences.

IS there a square footage difference between the old and new?

Personally I like staying in a "nice hotel" when' staying DVC so I'm not a camping type person, but no bathtub would be a big issue for my young family

Great video guys. The new cabins look fantastic. I wish DVC made a few of them with a king size bed and no bunk beds in the bedroom.

Back in 2008, we stayed at OKW and they still had the peddleboat rentals. We went from the OKW dock, up the river to Port Orleans. You know how low those sat in the water when you have 2 adult men facing forward 180lb each and a small woman and child facing back? I saw an alligator. Couldn't get back fast enough!! 😮

Smoky Bear was all over the TV in the 1970’s. It was a campaign to prevent forest fires - primarily among campers. I don’t know of the Disney connection but Fort Wilderness is a Campground that has been around since the 1970’s.

The pool used to have the best loaded bbq chips like the ones at the Poly. They took those away when they redid everything about a year ago. Also, We have seen gators in that water and they do close that beach area for kayaking and you will see cages in the water at times when they are trying to catch them. But Crockets is the best place to eat in the evenings there. The fried green tomatoes, small sandwiches, and the alcohol flight is fantastic. And they have the BEST fries. We had Xmas dinner there very late after a long drive.

I love this, but all I could think about were alligators when y’all were kayaking 😮

I didn't know how to use my dvc account efficiently until I started watching you guys lol. I'd just call and book my week without comparing point costs between seasons and resorts. We're DVC members and stay in deluxe villas nearly every month. We also have a motor home and stay at the Fort 4 or 5 times a year. If you look around, there are guests here who stay in multi-million $ Prevost motor homes, and some stay in tents but we're all the same in this community of Fort Wilderness lovers! (And we love the new cabins!)

I used to love staying at Fort Winderness. The Original "Cabins" were actually airstream trailers, which were Replaced by the "old" cabins which are now being replaced, in the 80's I Used to do various rowing activities, including Canoeing, Dragon boats and 4's and 8's. You might want to see if your Dragon Boat crew would want to compete in the event in Vancouver, which is a lot of fun

So based on what I am seeing - Fort Wilderness reminds me of many state parks I have been to. Its nice. But definitely has the state park vibe. Not worth the price that #Disney wants to charge for a stay there. I mean - bring your own towel to the pool? Prepackaged sandwiches on par with airport food? I can't find prices right now but I thought they had it about $600/night

This is my favorite video so far! We've camped at Fort Wilderness several times and haven't seen some of the stuff that you saw. Great coverage of everything! Very nice of Thomas and Daniel for letting you see their cabin. The cabins are gorgeous! I like the old rustic cabins, but it was definitely time to update them. Great job Disney!❤

Yes, this is the best selling point for us as a family of 5 - I DONT HAVE TO SHUSH MY KIDS EVERY 35 SECONDS!! 😂😂😂

We are Gen Xers and we actually like the new concept of the new cabins. We have rented and stayed in the older cabins in the past, and it is difficult to have an adult sleep on the sleeper sofa. The new Murphy beds appear a lot more comfortable for an adult to sleep in them. We still love the older cabins for their charm but they did need USB and USB-C outlets for all of the things that a family would need to charge during their stay. We are considering purchasing DVC at the Fort, but we are hesitant to do so because of the high dues.

There are approved fire pits you can use to have a fire. They have a flyer you can use to see which ones will work. And there are no prohibited breeds. They have a right to ask you to board your dogs if they become a nuisance.

Primitive tent camping is no longer allowed because that area floods. Hopefully they are going to do something with that area and add something, otherwise it’s another wasted opportunity that isn’t new for Disney.

My wife and I made a point of taking her father to the AKL just this past week, and it was great watching him geek out and wander around excitedly at all the giant features and little touches in the lobby and restaurants. It's a magical place.

I REALLY think that overall, DVC needs to put two bathrooms in the 1 bedroom villas. The concept of fitting up to 4-5 people in a villa with 1 toilet is wild and I just want some updates there. This resort looks fun to visit once and maybe I’ll love it but no washer/dryer and the lack of amenities for a DVC resort is just is underwhelming.

The design is reminiscent of Reflections. Cabins were included in the plans we saw for that resort.
